WP 4 JPI Implementationcsa wateur

This WP implements the Water JPI SRIA using a light touch high level management and improving water services to European citizens, sustaining European scientific/technological leadership, making European water businesses more competitive and supporting European policies. In order to achieve these objectives, three principles will inspire all activities under WP4: variable geometry, flexibility and responsiveness.

The WATER JPI Implementation Plan for the period 2014-2016 focuses on activities classified into three types: interfacing with society, empowering research and innovation actors, improving the RDI programmes.

Nine instruments have been designed to implement the WATER JPI activities with the aim of maximizing the societal impact of its SRIA through joint calls for projects proposals, strategic and exploratory workshops, and alignment of national RDI programmes.

The WATER JPI is a relevant structure for Horizon 2020

Both the Water JPI and Horizon 2020 use public funds to achieve their goals, and enjoy a significant area of synergy in their respective research priorities. The JPI provides a channel for dialogue with the EC on future Horizon 2020 calls. Since its launch, the EC has been very supportive of the Water JPI and a non-voting member of its Governing Board.
